It's funny how fashion can come full circle. Looking back at the early 00's I was heavy inspired by J-Lo and the 'Jenny from the block' era. The big earrings, low slung wide leg jeans, a lurex knitted crop top and rainbow coloured high heels. With just a few tweaks to the jeans and minus the crazy rainbow wooden heels, I would happily wear that combination again! We all reminisce about how awful our taste was when we first started going out, I know the butterfly crop tops needed to die a death and I should have said no to having a million clips and bands in my hair but at the time I thought I looked so cool. But I do love it when a trend that you loved the first time, comes round again. Even better when the high street upgrades the whole look, with better quality of fabric and modernising the style to fit not just this season but next one as well!
You guys know how much I live for jeans and denim pieces and when Topshop brought out a modern take on the 00's Miss Sixty flared jeans I snapped them up straight away. A few months on I had the same feeling again with these wide leg godet insert jeans, giving in to the baggy jean look all over again! I know most people will happily say Topshop jeans fit true to size and these are no different. Here I've styled the cream against a white off the shoulder top for more of a spring look and styled it with black and silver accessories to finish the whole look off.
After all this time I would like to think I might have learnt something about fashion and how to dress but there are times I just get drawn back onto an old trend that takes you back down memory lane. What have you bought recently that takes you back to when you was a kid?
